If the correct harmonic focus could be made—something between a divination focus and an optical lens—it might be possible to see or hear these echoes, to recall the past not from mind, but from place.

I focused further and glimpsed faint images like smoke rising backward into shape. Faces forming and dissolving. The lens trembled violently and the silver edge blackened.
The voices did not cease when I lowered the lens. For several minutes, the air itself repeated the same phrase again and again:
“I was here.”This seems to confirm the field resonance model: the lens recalls memories anchored to emotion.

Each use thickens the residue. Echoes overlap until they form something more coherent than memory—a mind made of other minds, a choir without a conductor.
I suspect this is what drives mediums mad: not ghosts, but accumulated thought.
If so, the Lens is dangerous not for what it reveals but for what it collects.
I theorize that a user who gazes too often might find their own identity diluted, overwritten by the sum of prior observers. The echo remembers who looked through it.
